Tipican / Hospitality

How it works

Here is how a tip reaches a business team or an independent operator.

1
The guest chooses who to thank
A guest finds a business or an independent operator who is currently live, then chooses a tip in the app.
2
The payment is processed securely
The card-processing fee is deducted first. The remaining amount is the net tip.
3
Tipican applies the right distribution
Tipican takes a 3% platform fee from the net tip. A business tip may be divided between eligible staff; an operator tip goes to that single operator.
4
The recipient gets their tip or share
The amount goes to each recipient's payout account, ready to transfer to their bank when payouts are enabled.

Before you start

Get ready before tips begin.

Businesses invite staff, add assignments and check payout readiness. Independent operators complete their profile and payout setup, pass manual review, then go live from the app when they are ready to receive tips.

An operator's planned location helps customers find them, but tipping stays disabled until a live session is active.
